04 NDRF TEAMS RUSHED TO KANPUR FOR PROMPT RESPONSE

Dated 01/2/2017 Time: 1800 Hrs

Today, at about 1440 hrs, a six storey under construction building collapsed at Mehetab Alam Market, ADA Colony, Jajmau area Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh and some persons are suspected to be trapped under the debris.

On receipt of information from local administration, one rescue team of NDRF comprising of 35 rescuers immediately rushed to the spot from its nearest location Lucknow at 1515 hrs, reached the incident site at 1705 hrs and started search and rescue operation.

To strengthen the operation, 02 more teams have been mobilized from NDRF base Varanasi at 1520 & 1528 hrs respectively and 01 team from its coy location Lucknow at 1630 hrs and shall be operational on reaching.

The rescue team of NDRF consisting of trained responders and equipped with state-of-the-art CSSR equipment and tools.

As victims are trapped inside, due care and diligence is being taken into consideration by NDRF rescuers. The operation is still in progress.

NDRF control room in Delhi is closely monitoring the situation and in close touch with other agencies.
